JoAnn is a Wyoming born native who started her tenure in Laramie as the Office Manager for a local health professional before joining this office with Dr. Becki Burman. She has been the Office Manager here ever since; keeping everything running smooth and efficient. She looks forward to helping Dr. Choal help you with your best smile possible.
When she is not in the office, she can most likely be found watching the nearest Wyoming game. Along with spending time with her 3 children and Husband of 30 years, she also enjoys cooking, trying new recipes with the people she works with, knitting, scrapbooking, and spending time with friends.
Registered Dental Hygienist
Carla spent her childhood in South Dakota on a dairy farm. In May of 2000 she graduated from the hygiene program at NDSCS in Wahpeton, North Dakota. After graduation, she moved to Laramie and joined Dr. Becki Burman’s team in 2004 and has been an integral part of the office ever since. Carla continues to participate in many continuing education classes and has enjoyed the many changing aspects of the dental world. She loves getting to know each of our wonderful patients and enjoys helping them in any way we can. Her goal is for every patient to feel welcomed, comfortable, and that coming to our office is the best part of the day.
Outside of the office she enjoys snowmobiling, four wheeling, camping, walking, shooting firearms, watching cooking shows, going to garage sales, any type of crafts, and spending quality time with her family. She and her husband Lonnie have been blessed with three sons and two wonderful granddaughters. They also enjoy spending time with their three dogs and all their family friends.
Registered Dental Hygienist
Patty was raised in the Black Hills of South Dakota. After graduating from the University of South Dakota, she started her career as a hygienist by working in private practice. After a few years of private practice, she returned to the University of South Dakota and worked as a clinical instructor for two years. In 1979 she moved to Lander, WY, practicing at the State Training School for seven years. Patty met and married Jim in Lander, where all of their children were born. The Verley family then moved to Laramie in 1986, where Patty has worked in several flourishing dental practices in her thirty plus year career. She loves being involved with the Laramie community, working to improve the dental health of her Laramie friends and family.
Outside of the office, Patty can be found spending time with her amazing family. Once they moved to Laramie, Jim received his PhD and teaches at UW. Her children all grew up and attended University Prep School and Laramie High School. Jason graduated from the University of Wyoming, attended the Colorado School of Mines, and is currently a Physicist in New Mexico. Elise graduated from and now works at the University of Wyoming as she continues on in graduate school. Eleanor is an actress and artist at the Cooper Center. She also works at the Pet Spa and in the office at University Prep School.
Melissa is a Wyoming native and has been working as a dental assistant for two years. She loves helping people and finds the dental office a great place to do so. She’s looks forward to continuing to learn everything there is to learn as a dental assistant.
When she is not working she can most likely be found reading a book, creatively engaged in some form of art, or playing a video game. Her favorite person to play video games with is her wonderful Husband, with whom she’s been sweethearts since the 4th grade. Melissa and her Husband are the proud parents of a year old Blue Heeler.
